Shane Ward- Shane Ward grew up in Detroit, one half of a set of identical twins, and one of seven siblings. By his own account, the streets where he learned to play football were not always safe, but it was there that he gained confidence stemming from his love for sports. While caddying for a local golf course in high school, Shane was exposed to a wide variety of people and acquired an entirely new set of skills... people skills. After graduating from the University Of Michigan's School of Art & Design with an emphasis in Industrial Design, Shane was hired by adidas to design footwear in Portland, Oregon, where more self-discovery was uncovered. He learned for the first time in his life to appreciate the great outdoors, and still does to this day.
Shane went on to design shoes both in-house and freelance for brands such as Puma, Converse, Fila, Rockport, GH Bass and many more. He also co-founded and Creative Directed DETNY by Shane & Shawn, the men's and women's shoe collection he created with his twin brother. The line was sold at Nordstrom's and Macy's as well as their stand-alone boutique in New York's Nolita neighborhood. Discovery continues for the true-blue creative as he began painting large-scale pieces that combine his appreciation for both sneaker culture and the natural beauty of nature. Today, Shane is a Design Director of Footwear at adidas, residing in Los Angeles, where he has spent 1.5 years with the YEEZY line, and now leads the design team for Fear of God Athletics.
