Maxwell Emcays is an accomplished award-winning artist that has used art activism to visualize the struggles of the suppressed and amplify the voices of the unheard. Emcays’ public and private artwork has been seen in Gallery Guichard, The DuSable Museum, and Miami Art Basel as well as private collections and highlighted on NBC’s “Making a Difference”.Stylistically, Emcays references abstract expressionism, pop art and Afrocentrism. He channels his making process and rendering to echo the underlying theme. Emcays employs a wide range of artist techniques including digital and 3D dimensional practices that he combines with wood, paint and other mediums.
Emcays is a philanthropist, an author of 5 children’s books, has run mentoring in a juvenile detention center, holds 2 patents, does multiple charitable projects as well as being a full-time artist.
