Kalu Isaiah, better known as HK LOCKS is a multidisciplinary artist. He hails from Abiriba in Abia state, he was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1994. He had his primary education in Ogun state and Kwara state. He studied art in federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State. He discovered his talent at the age of four, his parents were attentive to his needs, letting him unfold his talent. They also gave him the gift of freedom to express himself in any form of art and also mature as an absolute individual. As a young boy, he filled his notebooks, walls and any surface he could lay his hands on with drawings. Where many would have experienced uncertainty over pursuing their dreams, he devoted himself to art, developing his passion for art, practice and craftsmanship to a higher level. He is a multidisciplinary artist who has been practicing for six years, currently living in Lagos and has exclusively devoted himself to exploring from being a portrait artist, a creative designer ( designing sneakers, fashion wears), he fully manages to transform impressions and experiences into Bodypainting, graffiti, abstract paintings, abstract - expressionism, sculptures, installations, furniture and other form of paintings. He has developed his own identity which make his works controversial, attractive and open for interpretation. He takes things from different fields and put them into culture. Having a very wide source of inspiration. He chose not to be limited to only one place of creativity. His works is being influenced by everything around him. He as well sees himself as scavenger of images. While many recognize him as an ultra-talented draftsman and an amazing painter, he has the desire to use his art to make a difference to the society. His artistic sense and its effect has played a significant role in each piece, creating an overwhelming visual appreciation which invites a new energy, interpretation and appeal. HK LOCKS is today moving his boundaries of his artistic research in new conceptual directions. He wants to create dynamic universe where everything is possible. His career is about learning and communicating emotions through design. He wants to be able to take objects from everyday life and transform them into materiality and meaning.
